VJ Day in 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of Victory over Japan effectively bringing an end to World War II on 15th August 1945. Victory over Japan (VJ) Day will be on Friday, 15th August. St Andrews Pipe Band will join up with Hound Parish Council and the local community to mark this special event

About the event
St Andrews are privileged to lead a short parade in Netley culminating in a short service at the war memorial in St Edward’s church to mark this event.
The gentleman we believe to be the last VJ veteran in Hampshire will be at the service.
Everyone is welcome, and we would be delighted for any veterans to join us in the parade… and any scout groups or similar would be equally welcome.
Parade forms at 7:15pm in the car park of Abbey Hall.
Short march across the road (traffic control in place) to the church.
Service at the War Memorial.
